SCALA DEI TURCHI

The Scala dei Turchi is a cliff of white marl that sprouts overlooking the sea along the coast of Realmonte, in Agrigento.

It has become over time a tourist attraction both for the singularity of the cliff, white in color and with peculiar shapes, and as a result of the popularity acquired by the novels starring Inspector Montalbano written by the writer empedoclino Andrea Camilleri, being the imaginary municipality of Vigata to be framed with Porto Empedocle.La Scala is made of Trubi, a marl with a characteristic pure white color. This cliff with a singular appearance stands between two beaches of fine sand and has an undulating and irregular shape, with lines that are not harsh but sweet and rounded. To access it you have to proceed along the coast and climb a climb resembling a large natural staircase of limestone.

Once you reach the top of the cliff, the visible landscape embraces the coast of Agrigento up to Capo Rossello.
